Remote Gambling Act
Since 01 April 2025, there is a new law in the Netherlands through the Remote Gambling Act. This law relates to the online gambling market. Since 01 April 2025, it is now possible for providers to apply for a licence from the supervisory authority KSA. The provider who makes his offer available to Dutch players now or in the future without such a valid licence must expect very severe fines.
The responsible persons at N1 Interactive had to experience this first hand. Since they operated the online casino “betchan” without a valid licence for the Netherlands. Thus, N1 Interactive has now been obliged by the supervisory authority KSA to pay a fine of € 500,000.
According to a published notice, this online casino has been inaccessible from the Netherlands since 13 March 2025.
So if you are in the Netherlands, please check if the casino has an appropriate licence.
